What Our Clients Say
Investment Management Success Story
Daryl, a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, enjoys picking biotech stocks, a sector he understands well as head of Research & Development. Professional success has generated substantial financial assets, including a 401(k) plan, Roth IRA, and taxable accounts. Daryl was not confident in investing outside of the biotech industry and not familiar with tax-minimizing investment strategies. He reached out to HTG for advice on designing a comprehensive, tax-sensitive investment strategy.
A reliable sounding board during financial uncertainty.
Our team is always just a phone call away and ready to answer your questions with unbiased advice.

Our fees consist of a fixed fee of $3,000 per year plus an assets under management fee starting at 0.75% that declines at higher asset levels. While we don’t have strict minimums, our fees generally make sense for clients with at least $2 million in investable assets (excluding home equity and checking accounts), as this allows us to provide the most value and makes the most financial sense for both parties.
Yes. Our 30-minute introductory call is complimentary. It’s a chance to learn about your financial situation and share how we can help, without pressure or obligation.
You retain full ownership of your assets, which are held securely at third-party custodians (Charles Schwab and/or Fidelity) in your name.
We offer full-service investment management, working with you to shape the strategy. At the outset of our relationship, we craft an investment policy statement with you that serves as the roadmap for how we will manage your portfolio. You give us limited discretion to manage and trade your account, which we do according to your goals, risk tolerance, and agreed upon investment guidelines.
You’ll have regular check-ins, plus access to your advisory team as questions arise or life circumstances change.
Yes. In fact, our clients are geographically dispersed across the country; fewer than half reside in Connecticut. We are accessible via telephone and video conference and regularly schedule trips to regions outside the NY Metro area.
We use quality funds and ETFs to tailor your portfolio to your goals and risk tolerance. As fee-only fiduciaries, we don’t earn commissions on any products we recommend, so we never push specific investments for our benefit. We always act in your best interest.
We have access to the full universe of mutual funds and ETFs, and as an HTG client, you’ll have access to institutionally-priced mutual funds.
Absolutely. We specialize in helping clients navigate major life transitions like sudden wealth, ensuring your assets are aligned with goals, taxes, and potential life shifts.
We apply proven investment principles such as asset allocation and diversification in implementing your plan. We use a combination of quality funds to effectively implement the allocation. Funds are selected based on process, performance, cost, tax-efficiency and manager experience.
At HTG, we take pride in maintaining a low client:advisor ratio to ensure clients receive the personalized attention and service they deserve. When you become an HTG client, you will be assigned an advisory team who will work closely with you to understand your unique financial goals and craft a tailored strategy to achieve them. Additionally, you will have access to our entire group of experts and support staff. We operate as a collaborative team, so you can benefit from the collective expertise and resources of HTG.
Fee-only indicates that we only receive fees from our clients. We do not receive compensation from the sale of any financial products, so our advice is always in your best interest, not influenced by commissions.
As fiduciaries we are legally and ethically bound to act in our clients’ best interests.
A knowledgeable financial advisor aims to protect you from financial mistakes that could jeopardize your long-term goals. As fee-only fiduciaries, HTG advisors always act in your best interest, giving unbiased expertise and guidance for your specific investment needs. We’ve been implementing proven investment management strategies for our clients since 1993.
