B.A. Accounting and Financial Management, University of New Mexico
Growing up in New Mexico, I always had a dream of moving to New York City. While in college, I got an internship at the Dean Witter brokerage office in Albuquerque. I learned about the financial markets and investing and was fortunate enough to be offered a place in their Account Executive training program after graduating college.
Through this program, I became a licensed securities representative. After working there for a couple of years, I realized that I loved the analytical side of the job over the sales side and was ready for a change.
I made the bold decision to leave the comfort of my home state and move to New York City, fulfilling that childhood dream. I transferred to the Dean Witter New York office and administered client 401(k) plans. I eventually moved to Merrill Lynch, where I worked in their Human Resources department on employee retirement and savings plans and HR systems and technology projects.
I had the opportunity to live abroad for six years in Tokyo and London, where I continued working for Merrill Lynch and later for Lehman Brothers in their Human Resources department. My husband and I took every chance we could to travel the world while we had this amazing opportunity!
When our first daughter was born, I decided to take a break from work to be at home with her full-time, and I continued being a stay-at-home mother after our second daughter was born. I will always be thankful that I was able to spend this time at home with my two daughters while they were young.
I worked as a part-time retirement benefits specialist in human resources for a couple of years as a way to transition back into the workforce. So when I heard about an opportunity to work at a local investment advisory firm, I was intrigued.
After meeting with the incredible staff at HTG and learning about their business, I realized this was a perfect fit for me. Luckily, they agreed and welcomed me into the HTG family!
In my Client Services role, I strive to continue the firm’s tradition of providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
It is a chance to combine my experience in the financial services industry with my desire to help people with their financial futures.
Life is busy with two daughters at home. In addition to spending time with family and friends, I enjoy food, wine, and travel.
